Go Team

Going to the world was one of the last commands of Jesus to His disciples; locally, regionally and internationally. Our team looks to equip people associated with North River to use their gifts and abilities to demonstrate the love of Christ, as well as to verbally express the message of God’s love and forgiveness.

Local Outreach

North River’s Food Forest Garden Project

Come one, come all!  Join us for our Garden Project Day!

Thanks to those who joined us on Saturday, March 16th to help us finish building the raised beds and add organic soil fresh from the Coast of Maine.

Do you have garden tools that are collecting dust?  We are looking for items to be donated – landscaping tools, shovels, rakes etc.

We are looking to build a prayer team!

A number of North River people will be getting together once a month to pray for the work of Amirah and the women they impact. We would love to have you join us.

Amirah exists to provide exit and aftercare opportunities to women who have survived different forms of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, and prostitution. We do this by offering residential recovery opportunities, organizing outreach efforts, and educating communities, providers, and policy makers on the unique challenges victims and survivors face in the Northeastern United States.

Our residential branch offers a 2-year Rapid Re-Housing program, which places women in permanent housing and provides rental assistance for 2-years. During that time our team works to help her achieve economic stability and her own self-esteem goals so that she can thrive in independence. Through our outreach branch, our team conducts street outreach alongside peer organizations where prostitution is prominent. We provide case management, groups, life coaching, and community events for women seeking community and resources at our Community Resource Center in Lynn, Massachusetts. We synthesize what we learn from our work with external data to advocate for changes to policies that break down exit barriers and make recovery and independence possible for more women.

Past GO Team Events

We packed and delivered over 30 meals for needy families across Boston and the South Shore. Each meal consisted of a 5 lb ham, dinner rolls, 2 cans of corn, 2 cans potatoes and 2 cans of string beans, rolls and a pie for dessert.

North River provided 30 Thanksgiving meals to Brookview House – November 2023

Members of North River Church provided turkeys and all of the Thanksgiving fixings, packaged them in boxes and delivered them to Brookview House in Dorchester so that 30 families could enjoy Thanksgiving together. Special Thanksgiving cards were included from our Kidszone kids!!

Global  Outreach

GO TEAM – Packing 17K Meals bound for Ukraine!

On Sunday February 12th North River had the opportunity to send 10 volunteers to help pack meals (17,000) that are destined for Ukraine.  We partnered with The Program, associated with End Hunger NE, to provide this shipment of needed food. We used the remaining Heart for Ukraine stickers to affix to as many of the meals as we could.

Since 1993, over 209 million boys and girls in more than 170 countries and territories have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches in these countries to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ.

North River Church members packed almost 200 shoeboxes in November 2023 that were delivered throughout the world. As part of the lesson one Sunday, Kids Zone kids (grades 1-5) watched a video about Operation Christmas Child and then had a chance to pack some shoeboxes.  Our Elevate group also participated by packing 40 boxes.

We want to thank all those that participated and look forward to next year’s shoebox drive.

Through our outreach initiatives, we partner with several organizations and ministries, working together to meet the practical and spiritual needs of the communities we serve.

Missionaries We Support

A portion of the Great Commission laid out by the Lord Jesus involved reaching out with the Good News of the Gospel to the edges of the world. To that end, we come alongside the various people and ministries listed below through prayer, encouragement and regular financial giving.

Working Hands

This ministry is designed to engage the congregation, members of North River, and people in our community through needed works projects within our church and throughout the region. Examples of work to be done: build ramps for accessibility, handy-man repairs, yard debris removal for those without the means or ability to do it for themselves. We extend the loving hands of God to help those in need through our working hands.
