It’s by Grace[1] and not by work you’ve heard that heaven’s gate is sure Through Jesus Christ our Lord eternity is secured
But the enemy[2] of your mind whispers is it really Grace wouldn’t good works do as well to keep you out of hell
So you think there is no real forgiveness where sin lurks without the benefit of good works
You draw you life in indelible ink in shades of black and white There is no give or forgiveness just stark daylight and the black of the darkest night
It’s cheap Grace if you think that you can work your way to heaven If you will hear while it is yet day[3] That’s what the scriptures say But you still think you have to pay
Grace is color Radiant and pure so rich in texture you don’t have to live your life in black and white anymore
Grace is a door you step through your whole past left behind you that’s all you have to do open the door and step through
Grace is a hand that catches you when you fall so that even in the bad times you can stand tall
Grace is like fresh rain washing away the dirt and grime of all your pain so that you can live again
Amazing Grace precious and free it is possible to receive without guilt or good deeds
Simply Come to the waters of Grace without money and without price[4] just for the self surrender that accepts the gift of our Lord Jesus Christ
